The gym buzzed with energy as students filled the bleachers, eager to witness the pep rally Teachers vs. Students basketball game for the past two years the students have won so thinking itll be the same students winning, the game began and from the start, tensions ran high.
The students played fast and aggressive, determined to out-do their older opponents. But as the game went on, frustration started to build. The teachers were surprisingly doing well until Ms. Payne tossed the ball to the opposite team who later on stated, “He looked like an adult!”.
The game continued on. The teachers relied on smart plays and teamwork, while the students pushed the pace, hoping their youthful energy would make up for the cheating as Mr.Nichols stated “They cheat every year, They had 7 players on the court at once”.
With just a few minutes left, the score was tight. But experience won out in the end. The teachers slowed the game down, controlled possession, and sank clutch shots when it mattered most. The final buzzer sounded, and the scoreboard read:
Teachers 26, Students 21. Mrs Shaffer had scored a 3 pointer causing the teachers to win for the first time in 2 years and Kobel said “And I threw a perfect pass to Shaffer, who drained the perfect three-point shot.”
